Still, I am wondering how it happened, since I am entirely sure that I had not changed the password I had entered for replaying the one created at install. Of course, after I had set the new password, I made several changes in the admin panel, pushing "Save settings" each time. I didn't care about the password, since I read: "If left blank, nothing will be changed." I am wondering, however, if something didn't change nevertheless, for some reason? Anyway, for the time being, when making a change in the settings, I reenter the password as a matter of safety.

By the way, in the settings, it would be a good idea to have to enter the password twice, for confirming it, when entering one: if somebody makes a typo, there is no way to know it. Instructions for installing into a folder: /yald/

1. Install YALD (this guide assumes you installed in the folder /yald/ and you want the directory to come up when you go to that folder.)

2. Rename directory.php to index.php
2a. Open your yald\inc\config.php file and add the following line before the closing ?>
$settings['directory_index'] = 'index.php';

3. Set the following settings in your admin panel under "config":

Link Type: Direct Linking
Category URL Format: Basic search engine friendly
Rewrite URL: /yald/index.html/

4. To fix the Suggest a Link:
Edit the index.php - go to line 178 and replace this:

$template->assign('suggest_url',$settings['mod_rewrite_url'].'suggest.php?category='.$category);
with this:

$template->assign('suggest_url','/yald/suggest.php?category='.$category);

5. Use this as your .htaccess file IN THE YALD FOLDER - * NOT * IN THE ROOT.

Notes: For whatever reason if I tried to make the URL Rewrite work using something like "yald/directory/" it wouldn't work, but if I used "yald/index.html" it does.

I solved that problem from my last topic, and this is what i did.

open inc/functions.php and edit line 434

change:
$category .= '/'.$categorypath[$i]['name'];

to
$category = '/'.$categorypath[$i]['name'];


(remove the dot before '=')

That's it... now all categories will show up like they should.

I noticed a weird thing when I had submitted a new link.
In the 'Approve link' tab I see my new links but the category discription is wrong.
Both links I create in New Category1
But in my screen it looks like this: (see the attachement).
The first link is in: Category: /New Category 1
The second is: Category: /New Category 1/New Category 1

As you see the second one is wrong, because it is also in /New Category 1

How can i correct this problem?

Here is my third issue: I enabled recursive link counting but behind the parent category appears in bracket 0 links although there are subcategories which contain links.

This is probably a bug because I did only change the template files and didn't touch any core files.

Can you help or do you have a solution to fix this?

I installed the directory and the basic Search Engine Friendly Category URL Format didn't work. I tried several settings but none worked.

I have created the .htaccess file and uploaded it. Here are my current settings:
Index File Location: /links/index.php
Category URL Format: Basic Search Engine friendly
Rewrite URL: /directory/

Actually I have tried 5-10 different combinations within these fields and also uploaded updated .htaccess files and changed directory names. Problem is always that the rewritten link seems to doesn't exist and I'm redirected to an error page.

I can give admin access if that helps.

How can I change in the breadcrumb trail the word "Top"? I would like to change it to "Forum Directory". Is it saved in any file? I wasn't able to find it.
