Version 2.4 released (no replies)

Yet another link directory version 2.4 has just been released. This release brings a number of backend changes, and a few frontend changes. Installs and configuration should now be a lot easier and I have also tried to make the upgrade from 2.3 or 2.3.1 as easy as possible.

You can view a changelog at [sourceforge.net]. Sorry the log is not very detailed.

If you find any bugs, as always, please report them.

Yald version 2.4.0 coming soon (no replies)

Hello all,

I've been working on YALD version 2.4.0 which will include a few major improvements. First of all, you now how to option of using better search engine friendly URLs. The new search engine URL format will include a full path to the category you are accessing. For example, the URL might look like [http://example.com/yald/category1/category2/category]. Search engine friendly URLs will also be easier to setup because the .htaccess file is now generated through the admin panel.

The biggest change of all... In 2.4.0, all program settings are stored in a MySQL database table. This perhaps makes it more difficult to debug problems, but no config file editing will be necessary for changing settings. For YALD newbies, there is now an install utility that will assist in creating the config file and database tables.

And of course, there are the usual bugs fixes. I need to fix some remaining bugs (mainly related to the new search engine friendly URLs) before I can make the release which will hopefully be sometime within the next week. Your patience is appreciated.
